A Little Bit About Me

Yoga and mindfulness for health's image

Born and raised in the states, I moved to the UK 10 years ago with my ex-husband and children. We spent the best part of a decade traveling & living abroad on a sailing boat while growing a company and raising 3 young children. From the outside I appeared to have it all.

Behind the scenes I was stressed, overwhelmed & deeply unhappy. I was idling in high gear & pushing myself- both physically and mentally, ignoring what my heart & body were telling me in order to achieve some unattainable perfect version of who I thought I should be.

I struggled with anxiety, a busy mind, intense shoulder and back pain & headaches that no medical professional could diagnose. I struggled to sleep properly, felt disconnected, self-conscious & lost in the never ending narrative looping through my head.

The things I did to look after myself were all part of the pushing- running, high intensity exercise and punishing my body. Then in 2020 during Covid, I had an accident that led me to make some big personal life changes. I separated from my husband & found my way back to yoga as a way of gentle physical healing. I quickly started deepening my connection to my yoga practice & everything started to shift. Answers started presenting themselves. Things seemed a bit clearer & I started to be able to reframe the way I viewed my life and purpose.

I found what I had always been looking for- a deeper connection to who I really am and what brings meaning to my life.

The practices of yoga & mindfulness guided me through a nearly 4 year divorce process, and have provided me with the roadmap & tools to heal, better handle life's ups & downs, and connect more deeply with life. This transformation allowed me to find my life's purpose & my passion is sharing this gift with others. I trained as a yoga teacher in 2021 & am currently completing a 580 hr. training as a Yoga Therapist.
